At age 13 he was ordained under Kumāravajra (*Gzhon nu rdo rje). He seems to have gone to Lhasa when the Smon lam chen mo was first instituted by Tsong kha pa (meaning 1409), and went on to study in Se ra Monastery.
He is the author of the history of teachers of the 11-faced Avalokiteśvara that has been published a few times. See Martin, Tibetan Histories, no. 109.
