He studied in Kashmir with Kha che Dgon pa ba, remaining a layperson (dge bsnyen), traveling 3 times to India with Rma Lo tsā ba as his attendant. Mtshan-tho, no. 53.
Rma Lo tsā ba was his maternal uncle. His uncle, Zangs dkar Lo tsā ba, and he together received Saṃvara initiations from Kha che Dgon pa ba. He died at the age of 65 at Dar yul. His sister's son was Mon ston 'Byung gnas shes rab. Blue Annals, pp. 232-233.
