The brief biography in Gangs can mkhas grub, pp. 266-267, has hardly anything to tell us, except that he was born in the early 11th century in Mdo smad Gzhag ra Lha rtse'i Yul. I could locate a little biographical information in the Thob yig of the Fifth Dalai Lama, vol. 1, fol. 355. There is an outline of the Gyi ljang Po ti collection in the bibliography by Mkhan po A pad.
His name appears in a single leaf preserved (in the state library of Inner Mongolia) belonging to a text found in Khara Khoto (information thanks to Tsuguhito Takeuchi, who will publish a paper on the subject).
