One of the main disciples of Dol po pa Shes rab rgyal mtshan (1291-1362). He wrote a work that exists in a cursive manuscript in 133 folios: Rdo rje rnal 'byor phyag rgya chen po gzhi lam 'bras bu gsum gyi yang dag don gsal. It was written in Ngam ring at the behest of the Byang pa ruler Nam mkha' bstan pa'i rgyal mtshan dpal bzang po. In the chronological literature (bstan rtsis) he may be called simply Mkhan chen. Kuijp, Authorship.
Cyrus Stearns says that he has a copy of this text, and that it is not — as Kuijp, Authorship, says — by Dol bu Sangs rgyas (just an alternative name for Dol po pa), but actuall by Dol po pa's great disciple Jo nang Phyogs las rnam rgyal, aka Chos kyi rgyal po.
