Dharmarakṣita

Dictionary Definition: 

  • A teacher of Atiśa, and therefore active in years surrounding 1000 CE, two of his works have been preserved in the Bka' gdams pa tradition (and are not in the Tanjur). Both have been translated (with Tibetan texts supplied in Tibetan script) in Geshe Lhundub Sopa (with Michael Sweet and Leonard Zwilling), Peacock in the Poison Grove: Two Buddhist Texts on Training the Mind, Wisdom (Boston 2001).
