Dictionary Definition: 

  • Aka Ahmad, Ahmed Fanakati. He was born not far from Tashkent. Herbert Franke, Aḥmed. Ein Beitrag zur Wirtschaftsgeschichte Chinas unter Qubilai, Oriens, vol. 1, no. 2 (December 1948), pp. 222-236. A Muslim, he was a finance minister in charge of tax collection for the Mongols. He had a son named Ḥusain. Another named Mas'ūd. Because of his creation of state monopolies and his pursuit of tax revenues, he was not popular among Chinese.
