The true sect or teaching, a term applied by each sect to its own teaching; the teaching which makes clear the truth of thebhūtatathatā. The True Sect, or Shin Sect of Japan, founded by Shinran in A. D. 1224, known also as the Hongwanji sect; celibacy of priests is not required; Amida is the especial object of trust, and his Pure Land of hope.
