Nor bzang rgya mtsho (1423-1513)

Dictionary Definition: 

  • His name may be prefaced by either Mkhas grub or Dus zhabs. Usually it is thought that he was a Kadampa/Gelukpa, although some say he was a Jonangpa (I wonder on what basis). He is most famous as an astronomer who codified the Phur System of astro-sciences.
  • His collected works have recently been published in Tibet in 3 volumes. Se can also see a woodblock printed volume of his works in 327 folios listed in Drepung Catalog, p. 1996.
