It would appear from the inscription that the image was erected by the monk Dkon mchog blo gros and his brothers in order to 'complete the intentions' of Dkon mchog yon tan. The inscription reads: oṃ svasti rje btsun dam pa dkon mchog yon tan gyi thugs dgongs rdzogs phyir / bdag shākya'i dge slong dkon mchog blo gros spun gyis bzhengs / dge 'dis pha mas gtso byas sems can thams cad rjes su bzung du gsol / mangga laṃ.
