Dictionary Definition: 

• Mvy., no. 3466. A Maharṣi.

• EoB. Founder of the Nyāya school, also known as Gautama or Gotama. Lived from about 50-150 CE.
• Here spelled Akṣipāda, said to be a Śaiva teacher. Cozort and Preston, p. 124, 127, 129 etc.
