A khon Lha mo

Dictionary Definition:

  • See Chayet in Cardonna, Facets, p. 70. Evidently this is the same Akhön Lhamo who was recognized in Alyce Zeoli, later named Catharine Burroughs (b. 1949), by Penor Rinpoche in 1988. Early in the year 2008, her organization was implicated in a longterm pattern of narcotics smuggling, so it looks like this is the end of the story.
  • According to Wikipedia entry, the original Akhön Lhamo was sister of Kun bzang shes rab, and cofounder of the Dpal yul lineage.
  • A biography by Martha Sherrill, The Buddha from Brooklyn, was published by Random House in 2000.
  • The modern "Jetsunma Ahkön Lhamo" was originally practicing channelling of spirit entities, especially one by the name of Jeremiah.
